Participation in Community Food Collection Initiative For The 6th Year Running!

One of Bimeda’s core sustainability pillars is Community, and we commit to seeking opportunities to contribute to the wellbeing of people, animals and the environment in the communities where we operate.
Actively participating to the wellbeing of the local community has always been important to the Bimeda Brazil team. Whether planting trees or distributing hand sanitizer, Bimeda colleagues in Brazil have always looked for ways to have a positive impact in the community where we operate.
In mid 2022, the Bimeda Brazil Social Service Committee led a food collection and distribution initiative for the 6th year running. The team organize the collection of essential foodstuffs which are distributed in the local community to those most in need.
Bimeda Brazil employees donate food for the initiative, as well as spreading the word among their friends, relatives and acquaintances, to generate additional contributions. External parties are also invited to contribute funds to the initiative, which are used to purchase additional food.
The initiative continues to go from strength to strength, which more food donated each year. In the first year the team collected 683kg of food and by 2021 they had reached over 3000kg! In 2022, the Bimeda Brazil team had collected over 7,000 kilos of food through their initiative.
